Successful Completion of the Lecture Cycle within the Jean Monnet Module „Sustainable agriculture and agro-environmental policies in the European Union”

As part of the Jean Monnet module entitled "European sustainable values ​​ in Environmental and Agricultural policy (EUVALUESEAP)", which is supported by the European Commission and the European Executive Agency for Education and Culture (EACEA), held from October to December 2025, the second cycle of the course " Sustainable agriculture and agro-environmental policies in the European Union" was successfully implemented at the University Business Academy in Novi Sad.

The course was dedicated to modern concepts of sustainable agriculture in the European Union, with special reference to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), ecological, economic and social sustainability in agriculture, as well as sustainable development of rural areas. During classes, students had the opportunity to learn about EU agro-ecological policies, rural development programs, the development and implementation of agro-ecological measures, the role of rural advisory services, as well as systems of knowledge transfer and innovation as key drivers of sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas.

A special segment of the course was dedicated to harmonizing the legislation of the Republic of Serbia with the acquis of the European Union within Chapter 11 - Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as analyzing the main challenges of agriculture and rural development of the Republic of Serbia in the context of European integration. In this way, students are enabled to see the acquired theoretical knowledge through the prism of practical application and current reform processes.

After completing the course, students were awarded certificates, and the acquired knowledge was additionally applied through the student debate "European sustainable values ​​in the field of environment and agriculture: transfer of good practices". This integrated approach to teaching confirmed the importance of the Jean Monnet module in strengthening the knowledge, skills and competences of students in the field of sustainable agriculture and agro-ecological policies of the EU.
